What a scare!
« on: August 20, 2016, 02:52:53 pm »
Hiya H ~  I tried to watch Jason Bourne last night at Put..locker but the quality was so poor that I thought I'd click on some of the other sites listed on the right.  The first was no better.  The next one wanted a membership.  By the time I clicked on the final one, I got a popup that my computer had a virus and that if I closed the site that I would not be able to get rid of the virus.

I immediately ran a virus scan.  It found 8 compromised files and put them all in quarantine or whatever language Avast uses.  I ran something else that looked like it was running from DOS.  I finally had to go to bed because I haven't been feeling well.  I don't know what the outcome of that was but while I was still up, it put some files in that vault.

Today, I ran cCleaner and the virus scan again.  I am freaked out because I haven't been good about backing up my files.  What a freaking pain.

It looks like the laptop is clean but I will keep close tabs on it.  Have you had problems in some of the other movie sites?  I never got a message like that in Put..locker.

I rarely view any films on any external links except if it's vodlocker, vidbull or Thevideo. But from what I heard that isn't a virus but a scare tactic by advertisers to get you to download their product then they will tell you have 150 viruses and it will cost to have them cleaned. I just kill the browser and start again but avoid that external link.

Like I would buy from someone who puts a popup in front of my face.  Bastards!  Feh.

I ran what I have in my laptop and let it do its thing.

Yeah. Vodlocker is the safest. Occasionally they have ads like "meet single women your age in your city" but the image is that of 19yr old Russian girl named Olga...lol.

You have posted movies that took me to

I have watched several movies there without a problem.  Just Jason Bourne was very poor quality.

I have tried Vodlocker and seen those ads.  I figured they also have some XXX movies.

I will jot down the ones you wrote and not waiver from them.

Yeah watchfree, dailymotion, youtube and all safe thus far. I don't know which link you clicked for that movie but Putlocker is fairly good about removing those links if someone tells them which link it was...lol.

I was so freaked out that I didn't bother making note of which links I clicked.  I had not backed up my photos or files and was kicking myself for it.

p.s.  I still haven't backed up my photos and files.   ::)

Yeah I went there and clicked on a number of links to determine which one we should be on the lookout for and nothing happened except my browser got hijacked. Took me one of those "meet single women in your area" site. I thought well that's very good I would like to meet single in my area. Turned out they weren't within driving distance and most of them only spoke Filipino and none of them would not be interested me as their requirements included a sound mind along with being able to afford immigration fees for the entire village.

That wasn't a Vodlocker Ad BTW...

I didn't know a sound mind was a requirement for those services.   ;D

I know how much you keep your mind exercised but you will need to pass a test so we can gauge the soundability of it.   ;)
